"Love" is Indonesian Oscar entry

HONG KONG -- Indonesia has selected drama "Berbagi Suami" ("Love for Share") as its contender for the foreign-language Oscar.

Pic, directed by Nia Dinata, is a drama about the prevalent but rarely discussed topic of polygamy in contemporary Indonesia. Delivered as a triptych, film analyses subject from the perspective of three women from different social strata.

Selection was made by 17 member committee headed by film critic Leila Chudori. Dinata's debut feature "A Courtesan" was country's contender in 2002.

"Love" had int'l preem at the Tribeca fest in May and is currently screening at Vancouver.
